Real Good Place
02:32
|
|||
put my future on the line
invested too much time
woke up to find a note
that said you can’t live in the past
i'm getting used to being lonely
working towards something steady
building a new life
giving myself a second chance
it's too bad I heard your name
cause lately i've been in a real good place
spent fifteen days in bed
couldn't push the downpour from my head
but the weather doesn't matter
if you never leave the house
now i'm unburdening my mind
under an unfamiliar sky
i don't smile like i used to
but i've learned to laugh out loud
it's too bad I saw your face
cause lately i've been in a real good place
lately i've been in a real good place
I heard you found another
Endless gem for you to mine
Now i’ve cleared the rocks away
The sunlight’s shown its face
I’m starting to get better
I’m finally feeling fine
i swore i wouldn't be a wreck
when i finally got your text
you ask for coffee
now that we've both had time to evolve
swear that neither one's to blame
ask how i'm getting by these days
you say you want the truth
but you just want to be absolved
i don't need you to explain
cause lately i've been in a real good place
it's too bad you're still the same
cause lately i've been in a real good place
lately i've been in a real good place
lately i've been in a real good place

Problems
02:34
|
|||
bored and tired of dreaming
weightlessness turns to loathing
terrified of planting roots in shallow ground
love's not enough to live on
chained to your creations
born and buried in this town
if you need someone to come over
i'll be the first one out the door
i can't keep myself together
but i can help you find your cure
worried about the future
burnt climate, creeping winter
wrap yourself up in treasure, glowing halo face
digging through the fossils
jewels are broken bottles
glitter filling up the days
I can't face my problems
but i'll be the first one to fight yours
i can't stop this ship from sinking
but i'll make sure you reach the shore
can't take this heart of mine
it kills me every time
can't take this love of mine
i don't need an answer
i already know
the silence built between us
is one more thing we can ignore
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know i know i know i know
but you won't let it go
i don't think you ever will
even the sun could never live up
to the meaning we instill
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know you're right
i know i know you're right i know i know i know i know i know

Together
03:29
|
|||
i'm not proud, i'l find my own way out
of the boiling abyss
and wake every morning in a fever dream
and spending the weekends with my back to the sea
it's bound to be worse before it gets better
but even the weak links can hold us together
living through the end of the world
hard to know which way to go
when tomorrow's all you got left
sleeping in your two-door green compact sedan
spending your last days being chased in by the ocean
we'll have roses for the living and bread for the condemned
build new things together until the sun’s spent
but is it worth the weight of the world?
all i have is all i can spare
i'd take or follow you anywhere
what kind of world are we building to?
when will you let someone love you?
i don't know if we'd make it together
but we could make our days count while we wait out the weather
so if you change your mind just say the word
